Well, here I am, folks. I’m Carey and I’m a cultural carnivore. An adventure junkie. A traveler in training. But I’ve got a lot to share. I have decided it’s time to start writing, telling my stories and sharing my lessons learned from abroad. You see, I’m a Tennessee girl…but that by no measure means I’m a “country girl.” I grew up with my feet in one culture; but my heart, my dreams and my fascinations in a hundred other cultures.
I may have Southern roots, but I have cultured wings, and many tall tales to tell. I’m a lover of fine foods, travel, teas and coffees, arts, languages, photography, markets, jewelry, flowers, adventure, and life. But, that’s just background. Most of all, I am pretty darn blessed.
I’ve decided that I’m going back in time to the places, memories, people, lessons learned, and distant lands that have captured me…I’m going back to that aisle seat 3C. For it is there where my stories begin. From the backwoods and rolling green hills of Tennessee…to the soaring Acropolis, the daunting Great Wall, the looming Eiffel Tower, the chocolate-scented fields of Tuscany, the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul, even the nooks and crannies of quaint Pasadena and beyond. Let me tell of the sights, sounds, foods, colors, and words shared–the faces that haunt me, the near death experiences. The crazy conundrums that could only happen to me. Let me share my snapshots of the world, both in my mind and on my camera. Come with me, let’s share a cup of tea…there’s a long flight ahead and we’re going to savor every minute of it!
Hi Carey,
I read through your blogs and could not find anything about your trip to PEI Canada. Of course I only had a few minutes to peek through things. This is Paul Robison and we were on the mission trip together. It took a while for me to track you down but I am glad I did. It sounds like you have been all over the place. Hope to hear from you soon.
Paul
Hey Paul! Great to hear from you! No, I haven’t written anything about PEI yet…any ideas? Perhaps our crazy restaurant outing to a place called “Fiddlesticks?” You know, I live near Jennifer, but have yet to meet up with her in the 4 years that I’ve lived in the LA area…she now has 2 kids and seems quite busy! What are you up to these days? Glad you found me…hope you like the blog (sometimes I get kinda long-winded!). Yes, I’m itching to travel again soon…but since we’re not able to afford it, I’ve been focusing on local finds. Take care!
